HENNA!!!!

Hey Ladies,

As promised I did a henna treatment!!! This was my first time so I took a little bit of advice from many people with wonderful hair!! I used many different ingredients I added to the henna. I wasn't really looking for color, but the moisturizing benefits of Henna. It was a little messy but I kept it under control and layered the bathroom floor with newspaper.

Here's the list of stuff I used -
Rainbow brand brown henna
Plain yogurt
Honey - humectant
Coconut Oil
Rosemary EO
Paprika (a Indian lady told me to add that)
Lemon Juice

Ok after I got the henna in my hair I sat under the heating cap for almost 3 hours & re-wetting the hair with lemon juice every hour. I rinsed the henna out of my hair in the kitchen sink instead of the shower because I was scared it would stain the tub.
(After taking the heating Cap off)

I rinsed my hair nearly 8 times including the shampoos. I didn’t realize how gritty the henna was and I noticed tiny twigs and grit!! So, the next henna treatment I will be sifting and straining the henna before using it. After all of the rinsing and washing I parted my hair and put on my fav moisturizing conditioner & oil and sat under the heating cap for 45 minutes. After rinsing the Deep conditioner out I parted may fro in 4 sections, put my hair in 4 puff balls, put my silk scarf on and went to bed!

My hair this morning before going to church was so so so extra soft and manageable all day!! I can't wait to henna again

Extreme Soft Hair (YEA ME!!!)

Hey Ladies!!,
A few post ago I made some hair butter that I tweaked a little bit and I believe this is the best one yet I've made. I use it everyday in my daily regimen after I shower and let me tell you! My hair stays soft all day with a nice sheen to match! For those of you with Type 4 hair you can clearly relate to frustrations with finding a way to keep your hair soft and moisturized! My hair could be so dry it feels like a Brillo pad literally!!

I knew I really achieved something with my hair while at church one day, when one of the kids told me my hair feels like a pillow!! lol I was so happy!! Now if I could get my edges to be a little more full i would be so happy!! Check out the picks below of my new earrings from Ghana they are so cute and of course my pillow top hair!!

The Baggy Method

Hey Ladies!!!

Sorry for the break in post I've been working like crazy. I tried the baggy method yall and guess what It works pretty good!!

For those who don't know what the baggy method is. It's a process to help your hair retain moisture and avoid breakage and split ends. Most people just use it for their ends by bagging their ponytail but my hair is short so I bagged my entire head.

To get started 1st your pick you favorite leave-in conditioner and put just enough in your hair or on your ponytail for those who want to just do their ends.

After applying the conditioner to your hair seal the ends by using a good oil. I used EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil)to seal my hair.

After applying the oil place the shower cap on your head and wrap your head in your silk/satin scarf or bonnet. When I put my shower cap on I secured it with a head band because I know how I sleep and they I tied my satin scarf.

When I woke in the morning I took the scarf and cap off and my hair was very moist. It wasn't dripping but it was wet and that's because I bagged my entire head.

I picked my fro out and went to work. My hair stayed soft and manageable all day I'm very impressed by this method. Although; I will be putting in less conditioner this time to adjust the amount of moistness I have in the morning.

I'll post pictures tomorrow of when I baggy my hair tonight and the results.
